About Oprius

Oprius Software Inc. is a Victoria, BC based company providing online productivity tools for the Independent Sales Professionals. Since its founding in November 2005, the company has been developing its Internet-based service, offering a basic version, Foundations, for free since the middle of 2006.

Its fully featured product was launched in August of 2007. It is offered in a subscription-only plan, with on-going usage running $14.99 per month.


We believe in in corporate responsibility and walking in integrity every step of the way. We won the 2006 Food Bank Challenge for Greatest Per Employee Contribution to the local food bank as a result. To support these views we have two key policies in place.


Alan Smith
Chief Executive Officer

Alan has been an entrepreneur for years starting in the Network Marketing Industry and then with Cadence Engineering Associates founded by himself, his brother, and his father. After leaving the family company he worked with a non-profit organization called Younglife which mentors and encourages high school youth. As the CEO of Oprius Alan's vision and passion will lead the team in creating an amazing tool for independent sales consultants. He has been happily married for 12 years and has two young kids. He has been instrumental in setting up local chapters for Business Networking International and the Young Entrepreneurs Association in Victoria.

Owen Mead-Robins
V.P. Operations

Owen brings a unique blend of business and technical background to the Oprius team. With a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Victoria he has worked as a game developer for Disney Interactive; produced the Water Quality Web for Environment Canada; and has worked as a research programmer for the University of Victoria Adaptive Optics Lab. Owen was one of the first hires at GenoLogics, a now leader in Proteomics LIMS software, working in both marketing and software development. Owen has also volunteered at Younglife, a youth mentorship organization.

Jason Chu
Code Sensei

With over 8 years of developing software specifically for the web, Jason is perfectly suited to lead the development team at Oprius. For 3 years prior to starting Oprius Jason worked with Salus Systems building online software for branches of Government. With a B.Sc. in Computer Science Jason has programmed professionally for several other companies and contributed a great deal to the technology community at large by being a key contributor to several prominent open-source projects. Jason has chosen to contribute to his local community by teaching Karate for the past 10 years.
